Dr Ilyas Ahmed MBBS LMSSA

Dr Ilyas Ahmed qualified in 1973 after attending the University Of Bhopal. He undertook his basic medical training at hospitals in Edinburgh, Grimsby and Manchester and then underwent GP training in London. He is currently the longest standing member of the medical practice having joined in 1980. In addition to general medicine he has a special interest in ophthalmology, spending a weekly session at the eye clinic at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary. Dr Ahmed acts as senior supervisor to foundation year doctors based at the practice from the University of Nottingham Medical School.

Dr Richard Lodge MBChB MRCGP

Dr Richard Lodge qualified from Sheffield University in 1977 undertaking his general practice training in Doncaster. He then became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. After spending a further three years in hospital pediatric medicine posts he settled in Heanor in 1983 ever since which he has been at the practice. Dr Richard Lodge is a GP trainer and supervises doctors from the Derby Hospitals GP vocational training program who are in senior stages of training to become general practitioners.

Dr John Tompkinson MBBS BMedSci

Dr John Tompkinson studied medicine at Nottingham University qualifying in 1988. He underwent GP training in Derby and after a spell at a practice in Ripley joined us at the Park Surgery in 1999. Dr. Tompkinson is the clinical lead for diabetes and endocrinology, in addition to supervising junior doctors training at the practice. He is married to Dr Anne Tompkinson who also works here at the practice.

Dr Jayne Lynas MBBS BMedSci MRCGP

Dr Jayne Lynas studied medicine at Nottingham University qualifying in 1997. She did her GP training at Derby also becoming a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. After being attached to our practice as part of her training, she enjoyed it so much she decided to stay joining us in 2000. Dr Lynas is a GP Trainer and supervises doctors from the Derby Hospitals GP vocational training program who are in senior stages of training to become general practitioners.

Dr Anne Tompkinson MBChB

Dr Anne Tompkinson qualified from Manchester University in 1990. She undertook her GP training in Derby. Her special interests include diabetes and endocrinology. Dr. Tompkinson is currently developing anticoagulant services at the practice.
